Recognize gas leaks
Gas leaks are dangerous and can be difficult to detect. Be aware of the following signs around your property, as they could indicate a gas leak:
- Dead or discolored plants
- Frozen patches of soil in otherwise warm areas, or disturbed areas of soil
- A hissing sound or a loud roar
- Bubbles in your water
- The smell of sulfur or rotten eggs
If you believe you have a gas leak, leave your property immediately. Get to a safe place, and then call your gas utility as soon as possible to report the issue.
